Developments in both products and personnel have led one local firm to grow its turnover by 50 per cent.
Founded in 2011, Premier Roof Systems, which makes, supplies and installs conservatories, orangeries, home extensions, roofs, rooflights, windows and doors, has augmented its team with the appointment of two key individuals to handle demand for its latest product offering.
Gary Lumby MBE has joined the company as non-executive director, with Ashley Fox being appointed technical sales manager. Both will be instrumental in the ongoing expansion of the firm, which includes a new partnership with Ultraframe.
Managing Director Pouya Bostani explained: “Product development is hugely important to us in an industry that’s continually changing, and we need to offer new and innovative products to stay at the forefront of developments in our sector.
“Ultraframe is highly regarded as a market leader renowned for continuously developing a wide range of products. This is a great fit for us as we aim to offer a variety of the best quality and most sought-after products available.
“Ashley is joining us from a 12-and-a-half year career with Ultraframe, and having worked nationally, brings with him a wealth of knowledge of the system and different customer needs.
“In addition, Gary’s many years of extensive experience at a senior level with Yorkshire Bank and on the board of other organisations means he can both advise and challenge us on our journey to deliver the firm’s vision, building on our recent success to increase revenue and staff numbers by 36 per cent year on year for the next three years.”
Gary, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers Scotland who mentors entrepreneurs, including Pouya, on the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Programme, and sits on the Tees Valley Business Grant Support Scheme investment panel, was awarded an MBE for services to the finance industry in the 2008 new year’s honours list.
He said: “I’m excited about the growth of the business which is set to increase by more than 50 per cent in turnover this year following the introduction of new products and additional team members like Ashley.
“I’m looking forward to helping guide the company through this period of high growth, ensuring it has the correct resource structure in place, and appropriate funding available. We’re actively looking at opening trade counters across the North East, as well as looking to acquire complementary businesses and move to larger premises to accommodate our ongoing growth – exciting times!”
Gary plans to coach key individuals at Premier Roof Systems, which is based in Jarrow, so they continue to develop along with the business, helping ensure that growth in revenue is matched by growth in profitability at the firm.
Pouya, who leads a staff team of 20, continued: “As well as providing strategic and corporate governance advice, Gary will provide hands-on support to develop new and existing client relationships, devise and execute new marketing initiatives, and implement staff reward and recognition schemes.”
Ultraframe products on offer at the firm include the Classic Roof – the most configurable high-performance glazed conservatory roof system on the market, LivinRoof, which creates a modern look by incorporating full shaped glazing and a contemporary grey panel finish with a partly plastered and part glazed interior, lightweight tiled roof UltraRoof, that is able to incorporate full height glazed panels without the use of tie-bars or beams, UltraSky – a slimline pitched roof lantern designed to be fully thermally broken, allowing maximum light into the home, and UltraSky Flat, an easy-install, fully-insulated and flat skylight with frameless glass to flood light into the room below.
Ashley said: “What attracted me to work at Premier Roof Systems was the friendliness and passion of the existing staff, the willingness to satisfy customers and the company’s vision for the future, with everyone pulling in the same direction. I’m really looking forward to working with such dedicated people who feel that every order matters.”
