Premier Roof Systems is responding to growing demand for aluminium roof lanterns and recently started supplying the Korniche – the ‘next generation’ of thermally broken roof lanterns from Made for Trade.
Premier Roof Systems co-founder and director Jamie Blackwood said: “We have increasingly been approached about full aluminium systems and were looking at what system to take on board. We already had a good relationship with Made for Trade and knew that the Korniche was one of the newest lanterns so we went up for a demo. It definitely ticks all the boxes – we have sold 20 of them in about a month.”
Jamie added that there was rising demand for solid roofs as well as Skypods (Premier Roof Systems sells about 40 Skypods per month). “People are going down the route of improving their properties – some are even putting a solid roof on conservatories they built 15 to 20 years ago. Those who do move into new homes are looking for extensions with bifolds and roof lanterns.”
Premier Roof Systems, which is South Tyneside’s only Guardian Warm Roof manufacturer, has grown substantially since it was founded in 2011. Last year, it invested in a new factory enabling the business to increase productivity.
The company has also taken on a new business development manager, Kristen Glenn. Jamie said: “Kristen has a lot of experience in sales and has worked for companies like Eurocell and GAP. His hardworking yet relaxed style fits in well with our team.” Among Kristen’s first tasks are building up the customer base for the Guardian roof and promoting all our products to new trade businesses. Marketing manager – Pouya Bostani is also improving the point of sale materials and promoting the Korniche on the company’s website.
Premier Roof Systems specialises in all types of conservatory roofing projects and has a reputation built on reliability and a high level of quality. Solid conservatory roofs are just one of the many products it offers along with roof lanterns, roof windows, windows and doors and composite and aluminium framed glazing.
Among products in the range is the Skypod from Eurocell. This slim line roof light is a versatile and innovative system of pitched skylights for flat roofs, combining contemporary looks with exceptional build quality. Skypod has proven a popular product within Premier Roof Systems’ range and has attracted interest from building firms and architects.
Jamie added: “Things are going in the right direction for us, with our name really getting out there. Now we have the right infrastructure to take it to the next level.”
